British low-cost airline Easyjet is canceling 1,700 flights between July and September, most of them at London Gatwick Airport. Approximately 180,000 passengers are affected.

Passengers who have booked on the cancelled flights will be rebooked onto alternative flights or have their ticket price refunded, according to Easyjet.

Easyjet refers to disruptions in the traffic system as a result of strikes among air traffic control personnel.

Previously, competitors such as Ryanair, Air France-KLM and Lufthansa have also canceled flights due to air traffic controller strikes and traffic disruptions.
