British low-cost airline Easyjet's results for the first half of the year are slightly better than expected.

The loss for the period is estimated to be between £690 million and £730 million, which is slightly better than expected. The cash burn in the second quarter was also better than expected. 

Half-year revenues amounted to £235 million, a decline of around 90 percent.

The number of passengers decreased during the period by 89 percent to 4.1 million.

The company further states that during the third quarter it expects to be at up to 20 percent of capacity levels seen in 2019.

The company will release the definitive half-year report on May 20.
