Egyptair is establishing itself at Stockholm Arlanda with a new year-round route to Cairo. The service will start on December 18, 2026 and will have four departures per week.
The new direct route between Stockholm Arlanda and Cairo International Airport operates on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Egyptair is deploying an Airbus A321neo with space for 220 passengers on the route.
– The investment in a direct route from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Cairo is a clear sign of strong confidence in the Swedish aviation market. Egyptair will play an important role in connecting Sweden with Egypt and other markets in the Middle East and Africa, says Aron Backström, Commercial Director at Swedavia.
Connections onward from Cairo
The new route not only provides a direct connection between Sweden and Egypt, but through Egyptair's network from Cairo, travelers also have access to destinations in the Middle East and Africa.
Swedavia also points to the potential for increased business and tourist travel between Sweden and Egypt as well as opportunities for freight transport.
Cairo is also the starting point for several of Egypt's major tourist destinations, including Giza, Sakkara and the Nile Valley.
Egyptair is state-owned and a member of Star Alliance. According to Swedavia, the Stockholm–Cairo route will be operated year-round.
