A man in his 80s disappeared on Monday evening from his party at Leksand's summer resort.

– An operation was started on our part around 8pm this evening. We are currently searching with both regular patrols, dog patrols and we also have a helicopter assisting in the search, says Mathias Henricson, the police officer on duty at 00.30.

The rescue service is also involved in the search with two boats and a drone.

– There is a stream just outside Leksand, but there is nothing to indicate that he has gone into the water, says Mathias Henricsson.

A search has been carried out for the man both inside the summer resort itself and outside.

– Of course, we will ensure that the person is not on the surface of Leksand's summer land, there are quite a few outbuildings and open spaces there. Then a search is also underway outside the area with both a helicopter, patrol cars and a dog to see if he has made it out of the area.

At 4 a.m. the man still had not been found.
