Two of the business world's most outspoken gentlemen have found themselves at odds with each other. 

Insults are flying between tech billionaire Elon Musk and Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary on social media. Now Elon Musk is opening up about buying the low-cost airline giant and firing the CEO.

Ryanair will not follow SAS and install Starlink internet on its planes. According to CEO Michael O'Leary, Starlink's equipment is too heavy and would increase the aircraft's fuel consumption too much.

”"You have to mount an antenna on the fuselage, which increases fuel costs by 2 percent due to weight and drag," Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary told Reuters.

”"Ryanair's CEO is a complete idiot, fire him," Elon Musk responded to X. 

Now the conflict is escalating. In a response to a post from Ryanair's official account on X, Elon Musk has replied: "How much does it cost to buy you?".

Musk writes that he wants to replace Michael O'Leary with someone named Ryan. 

”"I really want to put a Ryan in charge of Ryanair. That's your destiny," he writes. 

Now Elon Musk has posted a question to his followers on X about whether he should take action and buy Ryanair. 

With nine hours left to vote, 800,000 had responded and 76.8 percent of them had said yes. 

Before buying Twitter, Elon Musk launched a scathing attack on the company's then-leadership. In 2022, he put his followers to a vote on whether he should step down as CEO of Twitter, and 57.5 voted yes. In 2023, Musk kept his word when Linda Yaccarino took over as CEO. 

Ryanair has a market capitalization of 30 billion euros, and Michael O'Leary owns around 4 percent of the shares. The company's shares rose by almost 2 percent when trading began on Tuesday, but then fell back to a gain of 0.5 percent.
