On 4th September 2013, Emirates, the world's largest international airline, inaugurated its route between Dubai and Stockholm. Yesterday, the airline celebrated 10 years of successful operations in Sweden.

Over the past decade, nearly two million travellers have flown with Emirates from Arlanda to Dubai. The company today connects the Swedish capital with daily departures on Emirates' Boeing 777-300ER wide-body aircraft, thereby connecting travellers to over 140 destinations via Dubai.

– We are very happy and proud to celebrate 10 years of operation in Stockholm. Sweden is and remains an integral part of our network, and it has been a fantastic journey. Thanks to our partners, airport authorities, and dedicated employees for making this milestone possible. We look forward to continuing to offer world-class services and helping our customers travel better, both in the air and on the ground, says Björn Ekegren, Country Manager for Emirates in Sweden.

– I would like to send my warmest congratulations to Emirates on their 10th anniversary at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Emirates is an important partner in connecting Stockholm with both established and emerging markets in the Middle East and Asia, as well as the rest of the world, says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia. Swedavia's primary goal is to increase accessibility and make it easier for people to meet. Emirates' extensive network plays an important role in this, whether you are travelling for business, to discover something new, or to visit family and friends, she says.
