Emirates cuts costs – 30,000 jobs will be lost

State-owned Emirates Group plans to cut about 30,000 jobs to cut costs during the virus crisis, Bloomberg News reported, citing sources familiar with the decision. The group employs about 105,000 people.

The holding company, which includes the airline Emirates Airlines, also plans to phase out its fleet of Airbus A380 planes more quickly, according to Bloomberg News.

Emirates Group is headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
