Emirates and United have activated their codeshare partnership, giving customers easier access to a wider range of US destinations. From now on, Emirates travelers will be able to fly to three of the US’s largest business hubs – Chicago, Houston and San Francisco – and easily connect to an expansive network of domestic airports in the US, on flights operated by United.

With the launch of the codeshare flights, Emirates customers travelling to the US will have access to 155 US cities in the United network via the three airports. Tickets are available to purchase from today on emirates.com and through retail channels, including travel agents.

On the flights, passengers can enjoy Emirates’ award-winning services and a host of convenient travel benefits offered by the codeshare agreement. Travelers with itineraries on Emirates codeshare flights can plan their entire trip on a single ticket and benefit from Emirates’ generous baggage allowance and convenient baggage check-in to their final destination.

The partnership also includes both airlines’ frequent flyer programs, Skywards and MileagePlus, which allow members to earn loyalty points when traveling on Emirates or United flights and provide access to airport lounges in both airlines’ networks when connecting to codeshare flights.

The codeshare partnership opens up a host of popular destinations accessible from all three airports, including Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Minneapolis and Phoenix. Emirates passengers planning trips to destinations such as Detroit can fly direct from Dubai to Chicago or Houston and connect to a United flight to their final destination.

“We are delighted to activate this historic codeshare partnership with United and significantly expand our presence in the US. United’s extensive network in the Americas will help us offer more choice to our global customer base and meet demand from diverse segments, including leisure, VFR, business and student travelers, who can now connect seamlessly to and from a broader network of 155 domestic airports,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer.

Emirates and United have an interline agreement that allows passengers to easily reach a wider selection of destinations in North and South America outside the U.S. Emirates customers will be able to choose from an additional 77 destinations in Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and South America, while benefiting from conveniences such as easy one-ticket itineraries and seamless connections via the three hubs of Chicago, Houston and San Francisco.

Emirates currently offers flights between its hub in Dubai and twelve cities in the US as well as five locations in Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.
