Bremen is transformed into a winter wonderland that not only warms the heart but also makes the eyes sparkle with its Christmas market on the market square and the ”Schlachte-Zauber (winter and maritime market in Bremen’s old town)”. Anyone who buys Christmas gifts at the last minute will find bargains in Bremer City (Bremen’s city centre). In addition, thematic guided tours and experiences await during the Christmas season.

Bremen Christmas Market (Bremen Christmas Market) is the splendid centre of the festivities. From 25 November to 23 December, it opens its doors and offers visitors a unique experience in the run-up to Christmas. Surrounded by the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Rathaus (Town Hall) and Roland (Bremen's famous statue), guests can stroll among over 170 stalls offering traditional crafts, sweet treats and hot drinks.

In parallel with the Christmas market in the inner city, Bremen's historic promenade along the Weser invites you to "”Schlachte-Zauber (Winter and Maritime Market in the Old Town of Bremen)”". As soon as the sun sets, the "Schlachte (old town of Bremen)" and the many log cabins are bathed in blue light. Absolutely magical! Here, a medieval market with craftsmen, jesters and musicians awaits visitors who can experience the atmosphere of times gone by.

Christmas shopping

Christmas shopping in Bremen is a pleasure. In the city's decorated shopping streets and passages you will not only find the perfect Christmas gift but also the special atmosphere that makes Advent so unique. With extended opening hours during the Christmas season, Bremen allows for a relaxed shopping experience and invites you to stroll and linger.
