The EU Commission is promising new guidelines on aviation fuel this week, in response to the energy crisis.

”This week, we will advise airlines on aircraft fuel and other matters connected to the crisis,” said Anna-Kaisa Itkonen, spokesperson on energy issues, at Monday's daily commission briefing in Brussels.

The Commission is monitoring developments in close cooperation with the Member States, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and industry representatives within a special Oil Coordination Group, which will hold its next meeting on Thursday 7 May.

”Nobody knows how long this situation will last, so the best we can do is prepare for all eventualities,” says Itkonen.
