All six samples from the truffles at the Coco & Carmen restaurant contained higher levels of listeria, the Stockholm Environmental Administration writes in a press release.
“It is not at all unlikely that it is mixtures with truffles that are behind the current outbreak,” says Daniel Persson, head of the food control department.
Persson adds that it is not yet known how listeria ended up in the kitchen, which also means that it is not possible to rule out that other foods have been contaminated.
”"Because the product is prepared on the premises, we cannot with certainty state the raw material as the source of infection. Whether a certain source of infection will be able to be identified during the investigation is uncertain," the Environmental Administration writes in its press release.
