Venture capital company EQT and German logistics company heir Klaus-Michael Kühne's holding company are acquiring a 35 percent stake in travel company Flix, according to a press release.
The investment is part of a long-term strategic partnership with a "shared vision for Flix's next phase of profitable growth in new and existing markets and offerings," writes EQT, which invests through the venture capital firm's "impact-driven" fund EQT Future, which has a longer time horizon than other funds.
The goal is to support Flix's ambition to expand its offering of sustainable and affordable travel options. The investment will strengthen Flix's balance sheet and help accelerate the company's successful growth.
The agreement requires regulatory approvals, EQT writes.
