It is a real chameleon that takes over Sundsvall's most popular hotel, Clarion Collection Hotel Grand. If there is a service challenge that requires a person with drive and commitment, Erika has taken it on. From hostess and guide at M/F Vindhem af Sundsvall to a zealot at Friskis & Svettis in Norway, but above all, solid experience from the restaurant and hotel industry.
– I came back to Sundsvall a few years ago to take on the challenge of food and beverage manager at Clarion Collection Hotel Grand. The CEO role became vacant quite quickly and I got to try out the role of being ultimately responsible for the hotel's operations and I really enjoyed it. The team at Grand is fantastic and that has meant that we have an incredible number of regular guests. This means that we work very closely with our guests and develop the hotel together. After the “trial period”, I have now had the opportunity to remove “acting” from the title and go all in on the role, says Clarion Collection Hotel Grand's new CEO and hotel director Erika Granlund.
Before returning to her hometown of Sundsvall, Erika worked for 27 years in Norway in tourism, as a salesperson, swimming coach and in hotels and restaurants.
– I am very happy that Erika chose to come home to Sundsvall again so that we had the opportunity to offer her exciting challenges and get a secure, experienced manager for our business, but also new eyes on what we do based on her experiences from different industries and roles. Working in a hotel is about being a chameleon and multitasker. If you Google a picture of a human chameleon, Erika should be the one who comes up. This is a sharp person who, with a great personality, makes those around her happy, and that creates the best conditions for offering an experience for our guests that exceeds their expectations, says Clarion Collection's Swedish operations director Richard Svartvik.
Erika Granlund joined Clarion Collection Hotel Grand in the spring of 2019 and has now taken on the role of CEO and Hotel Director of the hotel.
