EU recommends face masks on trains

Remove

EU authorities now recommend that face masks be used by both travelers and staff on trains.

Face masks should be used in rail traffic if a distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained, according to the updated recommendations from the European Commission, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and the European Union Agency for Railways.

Train staff should also wear face masks, and be trained in their use, according to the recommendations, reports TT.

However, the Public Health Agency does not believe that face masks are needed in ordinary situations in society.

According to the authority, it is better to keep your distance and be careful to wash your hands.

SJ adheres to the authorities' guidelines, while the train operator MTRX, which operates the Stockholm-Gothenburg route, offers free face masks to its passengers.
