On Thursday, the Hurtigruten ship MS Spitsbergen arrived in Tromsø, Norway. After that, everyone on board, crew and passengers, has been tested for the coronavirus.
Now Hurtigruten announces in a press release that all 134 people on board have tested negative for Covid-19.
– It is very good news that everyone tested negative. We have had good cooperation with Tromsø Municipality and the infection control authorities, who have worked quickly and efficiently with the tests, says Hurtigruten's Head of Communications Rune Thomas Egen in the press release.
Hurtigruten decided on Monday to suspend all expedition cruises until further notice. The second ship in operation, MS Fridtjof Nansen, will arrive in Hamburg, Germany, on Friday morning.
