Fast food advertising on London's public transport is now over.
On Monday, work began on removing the advertising posters.
It was in May last year that the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said there were plans to ban fast food advertising on public transport. On Monday, the BBC reported that work had begun to remove junk food advertising.
The mayor said the reason for banning fast food advertising is because he wants to reduce obesity among the city's children and youth. He calls obesity a "ticking time bomb.".
A spokesperson for the mayor told the BBC that they are confident these changes will reduce children's exposure to fast food advertising and encourage Londoners to make healthier food choices for themselves and their families.
The Advertising Association, the trade organization that represents the entire advertising industry in the UK, CEO Stephen Woodford, believes the ban on junk food advertising could affect prices for London's public transport.
– The UK already has the strictest laws on fast food advertising in the world.
This means a loss of income which could affect prices, he tells the BBC.
