Severe weather closed the E4 and Skavsta

Several aircraft that were due to land at Skavsta Airport had to be rerouted to Arlanda.

– According to the information I have, it's weather-related, says David Karlsson, communications officer at Swedavia.

Even on the roads, there were problems in the Sörmland region during Thursday evening and into Friday morning.

The E4 was primarily affected in the southbound direction towards Nyköping.

Several Ryanair flights had to land at Arlanda during the night instead of Skavsta, where they were supposed to land.
"We have three, four flights landing at Arlanda instead of Skavsta," says David Karlsson, communications officer at Swedavia.
Everything points to the bad weather being the reason the plane couldn't land at Skavsta.
The information I have is that it's weather-related. As I understood it, it had to do with friction values on the track.
– It concerns a plane from Milan that has already landed, one from London that is on its way and one from Spain, all of which are permitted to land at Arlanda.
According to David Karlsson, this will have no impact on other air traffic.
– For us, it's about looking after the travellers.

E4 closed
Several weather-related problems affected the Nyköping area last night.
Traffic on the E4 southbound towards Nyköping, near Tystberga, was closed overnight to Friday.
– It's like a hill there. Due to the road conditions, the lorries aren't making it up, they're just getting stuck, says Eric Björkholm, duty officer at Sörmland police, to P4.
