The airline SAS flew a total of 1.9 million passengers in December, which is something
fewer compared to the same month last year.
At the same time, the cabin factor increased slightly as the company reduced its capacity.
SAS's scheduled traffic decreased by 1.8 percent in December, while capacity fell by 1.9 percent compared to the same month last year. This meant that the cabin factor increased marginally to 68.9 percent.
According to SAS, traffic increased slightly on routes within Scandinavia, while decreasing on intercontinental and European routes outside Scandinavia, compared to the same month last year.
”"It is satisfactory that our adaptation to seasonal variations in air travel demand is yielding results in the form of a slightly higher cabin factor and increased unit revenue during the month," says SAS CEO Rickard Gustafson.
SAS's currency-adjusted yield, revenue per passenger kilometer, was up 0.5 percent in December compared to the same month last year.
This morning, Finnair FIA1S -1.56% also released traffic figures and earlier this week figures came from Norwegian NAS -2.23%.
