Finland eases border rules with Sweden

Finland is reintroducing travel restrictions for a number of countries that were previously open to travel. Germany, Greece, Malta, Norway, Denmark and Iceland are now also subject to travel restrictions.

People living in border areas will now be able to move more freely across the border to Finland, the Finnish government announced during a press conference, reports Swedish Yle. However, it is unclear exactly how this will happen and what documentation is required for Swedes in the border area to be able to cross over to Finland.

”"We don't know how long we have to live with this, we want people to be able to live a normal life between two countries," says Interior Minister Maria Ohisalo, according to Yle.
