The airline Finnair is losing its CEO Topi Manner, who is moving to a similar position at the telecommunications operator Elisa, according to a press release.

Manner will take up his position as CEO of Elisa no later than March 1 next year.

Manner's time as CEO at Finnair has been marred by the pandemic and the closure of important Russian airspace in the wake of the Ukraine invasion.

”"My time at Finnair has been marked by the exceptional crises we have faced. This has been the ultimate stress test for the entire Finnair team. I am incredibly proud of how our organization has responded, adapted and succeeded," Manner says in a comment.

Finnair will immediately begin the search for a replacement for Manner.

Elisa has been led for two decades by 62-year-old Veli-Matti Mattila, who now wishes to retire.
