Finnish airline Finnair predicts that it will have an average capacity of approximately 70 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared to the corresponding period in 2019, that is, before the pandemic broke out. 

In the short term, Finnair expects strong travel demand to continue, but uncertainty for Finnair is greater, due to, among other things, high fuel prices, closed Russian airspace and inflationary pressures. The company reiterates its forecast that comparable operating profit in 2022 will be significantly negative for the third consecutive year.

In the third quarter, comparable operating profit amounted to EUR 35.2 million and for the nine-month period January-September it was EUR -182 million.
