The airline Finnair flew 891,000 passengers in September 2022, an increase of 199 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the company's monthly figures.
The increase corresponds to 1.1 percent compared to August, but the months are not fully comparable given that August contains one day less than September.

Russia's countermeasure after Western sanctions, which followed the war in Ukraine, was to close its airspace, thereby making Finnair's routes to Asia more difficult.

The impact of the pandemic, which has been particularly felt in Asia, remained modest during the month.
Capacity, measured as ASK (available seat kilometers), increased by 118 percent compared to September 2021, but decreased by 2.3 percent compared to August.
Traffic, measured as revenue per passenger kilometer (RPK), increased by 306 percent compared to September 2021, but decreased by 4.9 percent compared to August.
