Finnair continues to expand its European network, adding twelve new destinations from its hub in Helsinki for the 2026 summer season. The routes to Alta, Catania, Florence, Kos and Valencia were announced earlier this year, and now Finnair is opening sales to seven additional destinations: Kuressaare in Estonia, Luxembourg, Stavanger in Norway, Thessaloniki in Greece, Tirana in Albania, Turin in Italy and Umeå in Sweden.
Finnair is also meeting the increased demand for travel to Lapland and is introducing direct flights from three European cities – Brussels, Paris and Zurich – to Finnish Lapland during the 2026 winter season. These direct connections complement Finnair's extensive daily traffic to Lapland via its hub in Helsinki.
With these additions, Finnair's network for 2026 includes a total of 93 European destinations, eleven Asian destinations, seven North American destinations (including Toronto, which will launch in summer 2026) and two destinations in the Middle East.

New European destinations
Among the new destinations, Stavanger complements Finnair's offering in Norway and offers business travelers seamless connections to Finnair's Asian network. The route is operated via Arlanda, which also enables traffic between Sweden and Norway. Umeå strengthens Finnair's presence in Sweden and is operated as a triangle route via Vaasa, which also benefits local travelers between the two cities on the Gulf of Bothnia.
Luxembourg is added to Finnair's extensive network of European capitals and attracts both business and leisure travelers, with access to hiking experiences in the Ardennes, among other things.
Finnair’s Mediterranean offering is strengthened by Thessaloniki, Greece’s second largest city, which offers city life, historical attractions and proximity to beaches, as well as serving as a gateway to the Greek islands. Turin in northern Italy combines culture, gastronomy and access to alpine nature. Tirana in Albania is a fast-growing city near the coast and represents a new market for Finnair. Kuressaare strengthens Finnair’s Baltic offering and is an island destination in Estonia that appeals to leisure travelers with its scenic landscape and rich cultural heritage.
The capacity increase is made possible through an expansion of Finnair's existing wet lease partnership with Danish Jettime.
Direct flights from Central Europe to Lapland
During the winter season 2026, Finnair will offer direct flights from Brussels and Zurich to Kittilä twice a week. Located north of the Arctic Circle, Kittilä is known for the ski resort of Levi and its unique nature offering a wide range of outdoor activities. Finnair will also operate two weekly flights between Paris and Rovaniemi – the capital of Lapland and the official hometown of Santa Claus – where northern nature meets a vibrant urban environment.
The direct connections from key European hubs offer Finnair customers more options to reach these sought-after destinations and further strengthen Finnair's position as the only airline serving Finnish Lapland regularly all year round.
Finnair operates the new destinations as follows:
- Stavanger: 8 departures per week
- Umeå: 9 departures per week (via Vaasa)
- Luxembourg: 2–3 departures per week
- Thessaloniki: 3 departures per week
- Tirana: 2 departures per week
- Turin: 2–3 departures per week
- Kuressaare: 3 departures per week
- Brussels – Kittilä: 2 departures per week
- Zurich – Kittila: 2 departures per week
- Paris – Rovaniemi: 2 departures per week
