The airline Finnair has appointed Turkka Kuusisto as its new CEO, effective July 11th, according to a press release.

Kuusisto is recruited from the Finnish state postal company, Posti Group, where he has been CEO since 2020.

”Turkka adds to Finnair "His strong understanding of complex industries and proven leadership and strategy skills will benefit Finnair as the company enters the next phase of its strategy," says Sanna Suvanto-Harsaae, Chairwoman of the Board.

Finnair's current CEO Topi Manner will step down on January 15 to head telecom operator Elisa. Until Kuusisto takes over, the airline will be led by COO Jaakko Schildt in an acting CEO role.
