Finnish airline Finnair has agreed with aircraft supplier Airbus to postpone deliveries of the three remaining A350-900 aircraft on order. This will improve Finnair's cash flow by approximately EUR 200 million in 2021.
This is stated in a press release.
The agreement is part of the extensive measures that Finnair is taking to ensure that the company can emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic as a strong airline, it says.
Deliveries were originally scheduled to take place from the second quarter of 2021 to the second quarter of 2022. On average, deliveries are now being delayed by 24 months.
Of the original 19 A350-900 XWB aircraft ordered by Airbus, 16 have been delivered so far.
