Finnish airline Finnair, which has been affected by a series of strikes in Helsinki, reports a sharply reduced profit for the second quarter. Profit amounted to 19.2 million euros (42.5), more than halving compared to the same period in 2024.

However, revenue rose by 2.8 percent during the same period to a total of EUR 787.7 million (766).

Comparable operating profit decreased to EUR 10.3 million (43.6).

Earnings per share were EUR 0.06 (0.09).

The number of passengers increased by 3.1 percent to 3.1 million (3.0).

The forecast for 2025, excluding the direct impact of union action, is unchanged. However, the airline specifies that comparable operating profit is estimated to be closer to the lower end of the stated range of between EUR 100 and 200 million for 2025, due to, among other things, weaker than expected demand for traffic within the North Atlantic.
