Finnair flew 824,000 passengers in February 2023, which was an increase of 85.9 percent compared to the same month the previous year, according to the Finnish airline's traffic figures for the month.
The increase corresponds to 0.9 percent compared to January 2023, but these figures are not fully comparable given that February contains three fewer days.
”"As the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic fades, passenger traffic is improving compared to last year. However, the negative impact of Russia closing its airspace to passenger traffic to Asia is visible compared to pre-pandemic figures," Finnair writes.
Capacity, measured as available seat kilometers (ASK), increased by 24.8 percent compared to February last year, while decreasing by 7.7 percent compared to January. Traffic, measured as revenue per passenger kilometer (RPK), increased by 114 percent compared to the same month last year but decreased by 3.8 percent compared to the previous month.
