First Camp Group, the leading camping and resort group in Northern Europe, continues its expansion strategy in Central Europe through the partnership with lodgyslife. Camping Birkensee outside Hanover and Harz Camp Goslar have been acquired and integrated into the First Camp Group's German platform.

The two acquisitions represent an important step in First Camp's long-term ambition to build a leading position in the DACH region - Europe's largest and most unconsolidated camping market - and demonstrate the strong momentum and scalability of the partnership with lodgyslife.

Camping Birkensee, located just outside Hanover, will be First Camp's first destination in northern Germany. The year-round campsite offers its own swimming lake, an on-site restaurant and a very attractive location close to major event venues, international trade fairs and cultural attractions. The region is one of Germany's strongest camping markets. The takeover has already been completed.

Harz Camp Goslar, which opened on January 1, 2026, is a premium, year-round destination located in the Harz Mountains – one of Germany’s most established and steadily growing tourist regions. The campsite combines high standards with an exceptional natural environment and benefits from its proximity to the historic city of Goslar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. High guest ratings and a well-developed overall offering make Harz Camp a valuable addition to First Camp’s growing portfolio.

“We acquired our first destination in Germany in the summer of 2025 and have since been very successful in continuing our expansion in the German-speaking part of Europe. With these acquisitions, we already have seven destinations in Germany, and a further five in Switzerland. Germany is a strategically important market for us with strong demand and good long-term growth potential. Birkensee and Harz Camp are beautiful and well-managed destinations, and we look forward to developing them further while preserving their local identity.” says Johan Söör, CEO of First Camp Group.

Camping Birkensee will operate under the AZUR brand, while Harz Camp Goslar will continue to operate under its existing name and with local organization. This ensures continuity for guests, employees and local stakeholders. Over time, both destinations will benefit from First Camp’s operational expertise, digital platforms and experience in developing high-quality camping and resort destinations on a larger scale.

Following these additions, First Camp Group now operates ninety destinations in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany and Switzerland, strengthening the group's position as one of Europe's leaders in camping and resorts.

According to the press release.
