First Camp Group continues its international expansion by acquiring Insel-Camping-Borkum on the German North Sea coast. With the deal, the group now operates a total of 92 destinations in six European countries.

The newly acquired destination is located on the island of Borkum, the largest of the East Frisian islands off the northwestern coast of Germany. The area is known for its long sandy beaches, mild maritime climate and proximity to the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The campsite offers spaces for motorhomes, caravans and tents as well as cabins and other rental accommodation. It also has a strong local presence with many returning guests.

The acquisition strengthens First Camp's presence in Germany and is part of the group's long-term investment in the German-speaking DACH region.

– Borkum is a destination with a fantastic location, strong local identity and a clear appeal for guests seeking nature, sea and relaxation. The acquisition is an important step in our continued expansion in Germany and shows that we have strong momentum in our international growth journey, says Johan Söör, CEO of First Camp Group.

Over the past year, First Camp has carried out several expansions in both Germany and Switzerland. The strategy is to grow through attractive destinations while preserving the local character of each facility.

– Germany is a strategically very important market for us, with strong demand, a large camping culture and good long-term growth potential. Our ambition is to combine local roots with the experience, scale and commercial power that First Camp Group has built up in the Nordics, says Johan Söör.

Following the acquisition, First Camp Group's operations encompass 92 camping and resort destinations in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany and Switzerland.
