Qantas has flown non-stop between Australia and the UK for the first time.
The plane landed in London this morning after the 14,498 km journey, which took just over 17 hours, several media outlets report.
There were 200 passengers and 16 crew members on board the plane.
The company's CEO Alan Joyce gave a speech before the plane took off, saying that the first flight Qantas made between Australia and the UK took four days and included seven stops.
The company's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which is used, uses half as much fuel as a Boeing 747.
Currently, Qatar Airways has the longest route from Doha to Auckland, covering 14,535 kilometres. Qantas' vision for the future is a direct flight between Sydney and London, which would cover 17,000 kilometres in the air.
