Autumn is approaching in Jukkasjärvi, and preparations are underway at ICEHOTEL for the construction of ICEHOTEL 36. Now the sketches for this year's art suites, pillar hall, ceremonial hall and public art projects are being presented - a foretaste of the sparkling winter world that will soon be created here.
Step through the iconic gates of ICEHOTEL and into a world of ice and snow. In the Hall of Pillars Cathedral Grove A sparkling forest of icy treetops awaits, stretching all the way up to the ceiling. In the Ceremonial Hall ECHO couples can get engaged or married among the ice art, or simply just quietly experience the silence and beauty. Imagine sleeping a night in the eye of the storm in the Art Suite Sweep Me Off My Feet, lose yourself in a world of soap bubbles in Soap Bubbles or experience the power of a black hole in Spaghettification. These are some of the imaginative concepts that will become reality on December 12th when the seasonal part of ICEHOTEL opens.
How ICEHOTEL 36 is created
In November, 29 artists from 9 countries will gather in Jukkasjärvi to transform 2,000 tons of Torne River ice into art. Together with construction teams and lighting designers, they will create a 2,800 square meter hotel, built entirely of snow and ice. When spring comes, the seasonal part melts back into the Torne River, while ICEHOTEL 365 remains open year-round with ICEBAR and 18 art suites made of ice and snow.

Experience a sparkling winter world
ICEHOTEL is more than a hotel – it’s a winter experience like no other. Here you can enjoy an ice menu with local delicacies in the ICEHOTEL Restaurant, go on a wilderness dinner in the middle of nature with an open fire and seasonally inspired food, or discover winter adventures with sauna and ice bath, dog sledding, snowmobile tours, ice fishing, ice sculpting and northern lights tours. When the evening comes, you can choose between sleeping in an art suite created from ice and snow, a deluxe suite with its own heated sauna and bathroom, or a warm hotel room with fluffy duvets.
Experience the autumn northern lights
The colorful Northern Lights dancing across the sky is a magical experience even before winter has arrived. Autumn in Jukkasjärvi is perfect for experiencing the Northern Lights – the evenings are long, the darkness is dense and the temperatures are milder. Combine the magic of nature with a night among ice and snow in ICEHOTEL 365 or a Northern Lights dinner out in the wilderness, and let the colors and light of autumn fascinate you.

About ICEHOTEL
ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi opened in 1989, and is not only a hotel but also an art exhibition with changing original art made of ice and snow. Every winter, a new version of ICEHOTEL is created, made entirely of ice from the Torne River, one of Sweden's national rivers and the last untouched waterway. When the winter season's hotel of ice and snow has melted back into the river in the spring, part of the hotel remains, ICEHOTEL 365.
