British Airways, Easyjet and Ryanair have launched their legal challenge to the British government's quarantine rules, which they say are worsening the prospects for an industry already plagued by the coronavirus pandemic.

The quarantine was introduced on June 8th, requiring all arrivals to self-isolate for 14 days. The government wanted to avoid a second wave of the coronavirus.
Criticism from airlines has been massive. They are particularly upset that the government did not consult them before the rules came into effect.
”The measures were tougher than those imposed at the height of the lockdown or against people who showed symptoms of Covid-19,” said the companies’ lawyer Tom Hickman at London’s High Court.
