Flight searches to Finland, the UK and Cyprus are now increasing

Flygresor.se is seeing a sharp increase in searches for Finland, the UK and Cyprus compared to the first days of September.

Yesterday it was announced that the quarantine requirement for travel to the UK from Sweden will be lifted for those entering the country after September 12. Today the media reported that Finland is also lifting quarantine requirements for entering Swedes from September 18.

As of September 10, 2020, the advice against non-essential travel to Cyprus is lifted.

Searches to the UK increased by 60% compared to last Thursday. Finland increased by 54% compared to last Thursday and Cyprus increased by 163%.

The graph shows searches for trips to Cyprus during the month of September and the increase is clear after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' announcement.

Spain and France, which are popular and large travel destinations, are not experiencing the same increase. Spain is stagnant at the same levels and France is decreasing slightly.

  • This shows that clear messages and how different countries receive Swedes greatly affect what travelers are looking for, says Sofi Cederlöf, Marketing Manager at Flygresor.se.

The statistics are from Flygresor.se portal – Flygstatistik.se
