Travelers from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport pay on average almost twice as much for a flight ticket to Europe compared to departing from Stockholm and Copenhagen. This is shown by a new price comparison from the Swedish Airfare Index, which has been published by the price comparison site Travelmarket.se.
Record-high flight prices from Gothenburg
According to the price comparison, the average price for flight tickets from Gothenburg to European destinations during week 46 is SEK 1,499 – the highest price ever recorded in the survey.
For comparison, the average price is 892 SEK from Stockholm and 831 SEK from Copenhagen.
This means that the average price of flight tickets from Gothenburg to Europe is 80 SEK more expensive than from Copenhagen and 68 SEK more expensive than from Stockholm.
Big price differences on popular routes
Several of the most popular European destinations show particularly large differences. This applies to Paris, Barcelona, Vienna and Oslo, where prices from Gothenburg are significantly higher than from Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Flight prices from Gothenburg are falling on intercontinental trips
However, there is also positive news for travelers from Gothenburg. The prices of intercontinental flight tickets have fallen for the last three years in a row from all three airports, and the average price of trips from Gothenburg to overseas destinations is now almost at the same level as from Stockholm and Copenhagen.
