Delta Air Lines reported fourth-quarter revenue in line with expectations, while adjusted earnings per share were higher than expected. The company's CEO Ed Bastian says 2019 was its best year ever.

Revenue amounted to $11.39 billion (10.74), compared with the Factset analyst consensus of $11.34 billion.

Adjusted earnings per share were $1.70 (1.30), which is 21.4 percent better than the analyst consensus of $1.40.

”Demand is strong. We had a fantastic 2019. It can be argued that the best year in Delta’s history is 2019,” said CEO Ed Bastian in a comment on the report, according to CNBC.

For the first quarter, Delta Air Lines expects revenue to increase by 5-7 percent.
