The number of air passengers globally is expected to exceed five billion for the first time next year, specifically 5.2 billion, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The airlines' combined revenues are also estimated to break the $1,000 billion mark, or over 10,000 billion Swedish kronor, in 2025.
According to IATA, falling fuel prices are behind the expected uplift.
