Fell overboard – found after 22 hours

The 33-year-old employee on the cruise ship Norwegian Getaway suffered the nightmare of every ocean traveler – he fell overboard and had to watch the ship drift on without him.

The accident occurred in the waters between the United States and Cuba, and when the alarm was raised about the man's absence, the American Coast Guard was sent into the search. However, after a few hours, the active search was called off.
But the next day, another cruise ship from the same owner, Carnival, passed by and spotted the man.

He had managed to stay afloat and alive for 22 hours, reportedly without a life jacket or other aids.

The man's condition after the drama last weekend is described as stable.
