Tourism exports in Sweden continue to grow. In 2025, foreign visitors spent SEK 121.7 billion, an increase of almost 8 percent compared to 2024, according to Statistics Sweden.
That makes tourism Sweden's fifth largest service export – and one of the few sectors that is increasing at the same time as goods exports are decreasing.
At the same time, the number of foreign guest nights increased by 10 percent, according to the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
Since 2019, tourism exports have increased by around 40 percent, which indicates a strong recovery and continued high demand for Sweden as a travel destination.
– Interest in traveling to Sweden remains high, says Visit Sweden CEO Susanne Andersson.
However, uncertainties in the outside world, such as rising prices and geopolitics, may affect future developments.
