First North-listed travel and event company Unlimited Travel reported a turnover of SEK 172 million (155) in the second quarter of 2024.

At the same time, the company turned to an operating loss as the EBITA result landed at SEK -2.2 million (2.9) while the profit for the period became SEK -2.2 million (2.5).

The loss at the Ebita level is attributed by CEO Charlotte Blum to ”increased personnel costs due to recruitment that began the previous year, currency effects, and one-off costs.”.

The order book for 2024 amounts to SEK 729 million, according to the company (636).

”The booking situation after the first half of the year indicates a full-year result that is better than the previous year,” writes Charlotte Blum in the report.

The third quarter, however, does not appear to have started particularly positively for the company.

”Both trains and flights have experienced challenges during July. Flights have encountered system issues, and track work in Sweden has impacted the ability to carry out planned train journeys. This has primarily led to extra administration within several subsidiaries and the need to compensate customers, writes the travel and event company under ”events after the period”.

The company's events page, along with corporate and business travel, is also doing well.

We are seeing continued strong demand on the events side, and after a somewhat weaker year for corporate travel, we see promising booking levels for 2025. Business travel continues to increase and is predicted to reach record levels globally. Increased purchase prices are driving higher turnover, but not necessarily increased agency revenue (gross profit),” writes the CEO.

At 12:20 PM on Friday, Unlimited Travel shares were down around 6 per cent to 13.20 kronor per share.
