France is now banning short domestic flights as part of its climate policy.
The ban applies to routes where train journeys of two and a half hours or less are available as an alternative.

The ban includes flights from Paris to Lyon and Bordeaux, among others.
However, the new law requires that train departures on the routes covered must be frequent, punctual and able to accommodate all the passengers who would otherwise have traveled by air.
The ban, which aims to reduce emissions, is described by critics as symbolic politics.
