Parts of Frankfurt Airport were evacuated on Tuesday.
Police also stopped boarding at Terminal 1, German police said on Twitter.
This was after at least one unauthorized person entered the security area, according to the police.
Part of Frankfurt Airport was evacuated by police shortly after 1 p.m. Swedish time. At the same time, boarding at Terminal 1 was stopped.
The Swedish police stated on Twitter that they had received indications that at least one unauthorized person had entered the airport's security area.
“Therefore, we have to search the security area,” police spokeswoman Julia Thiel told AP.
According to unconfirmed reports to the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper, an adult and a child were supposed to pass through the security check. When they were to be checked again by the security guard, they disappeared into the area.
– The police said we had to leave the area quickly and then they came with automatic weapons and evacuated, but they didn't want to say why or what had happened, only that it was for security reasons, says Swede Albin Abazi.
A large police operation was carried out at the airport, but at 2:40 p.m., the German police stated on Twitter that the operation had ended and that the blockades had been lifted.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper reports that there are currently no signs of terror or other criminal motives.
Frankfurt Airport is Europe's second busiest and Europe's third largest airport in terms of number of passengers.
