SAS has canceled several flights to and from France after air traffic controllers in the country announced they would go on strike on Friday morning, writes SVT.

French air traffic controllers plan to go on strike on Friday after the union and the employer failed to agree on pay levels. The union SNCTA believes that wages need to be adjusted due to ”record inflation,” writes SVT.

This means that the number of flights to and from French airspace will be halved during the peace period, as the country's five air traffic control centers will only have minimal staffing. In total, this amounts to around 1,000 canceled flights.

SAS is forced to cancel two flights from Arlanda that would have gone to Paris and Nice, as well as the return flights back to Stockholm. Flights between Copenhagen and Paris are also canceled, SAS press manager Tonje Sund tells SVT.
