ESS Group's latest major venture, Jacy'z Hotel & Resort, opens in early November in the heart of Gothenburg. This means that 300 people can look forward to new, exciting career opportunities and the recruitment process is already in full swing. In times when new jobs are needed, this is important work in progress.
This week, over 150 people were interviewed when Jacy'z held recruitment days to find new stars for the hotel. The next major recruitment event is planned for August. 50 people are already employed and are preparing for the opening. These 50 people will now, in a short time, grow to a force of 300 people.
”I am convinced that the hospitality industry is an incredibly good entry point into working life where you learn to work in a team, manage people and where you get to develop. Everyone should work in the hospitality industry at some point.”
says Jimmy Olsson, CEO at Jacy'z.
Responsible for the recruitment process is Marie Backstrom, newly appointed HR Business Partner for Jacy'z. She has worked in the transport industry for a long time and has over 10 years of experience from various HR roles. Most recently, she came from Greencarrier as Human Resource Manager.
”"I'm really looking forward to taking on this challenge together with my new colleagues. The hospitality industry is new to me, so I already know that I will learn a lot and develop both professionally and personally,",
says Marie Bäckström.
The ambition at Jacy'z is high. It's not just about the guest experience, but also about the employee journey. During the so-called pre-opening process, an important question is how to best take care of the team that will be working. Everything from training plans to staff meals and activity calendars are discussed.
Marie Bäckström continues:
”"Although recruitment is a challenge in itself, it is only later that the real work begins. The goal is to retain all the wonderful people who choose to embark on this adventure with us. We discuss everything from details that will make a difference in everyday life, to how we develop employees over time. Jacy'z will be a large facility and we are also part of the ESS Group, so it is important for us to know our employees' long-term ambitions and to - together with them - work towards those goals.".
