Egypt's second largest airline is establishing itself at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and offering a direct route to Cairo for the first time. Starting in mid-June, Nile Air will fly twice a week between the two capitals.
The Egyptian airline Nile Air is investing in the Swedish market and establishing itself at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Just in time for midsummer, they are launching a new direct route to Cairo, the airline's fourth European route.
The new accessibility will be an important addition to Arlanda's existing destination offering and is in demand by both the business community, holidaymakers and those travelling to visit family and friends.
Sweden and Egypt have long-standing trade relations and Egypt is an important trading partner for Sweden. A number of large Swedish companies are currently engaged in Egypt and offer more than 15,000 jobs in the local market. Egypt is also a popular destination for Swedish tourists and under normal circumstances Egypt receives approximately 100,000 Swedish tourists annually.
Starting on June 18, 2022, Nile Air will operate Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Cairo International Airport (CAI) twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From Cairo, passengers can connect to other Nile Air destinations in Egypt, Sharm El Sheik, Hurghada, Luxor and Aswan, as well as to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Sudan.
