Royal Caribbean International has announced that Gerard Nolan has been appointed as Executive Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Royal Caribbean International. The role will see Gerard lead the day-to-day operations of the brand in the EMEA region, including responsibility for the sales, marketing and business teams.
Gerard has been with Royal Caribbean Group since 2016, previously working for the Celebrity Cruises brand. During this time he has held several senior roles and been responsible for driving the commercial strategy. He most recently joined Celebrity Cruises from the role of Deputy Commercial Director, where he was responsible for EMEA and provided strategic support for the Australia and Asia-Pacific regions.
Gerard joins the Royal Caribbean International team at an exciting time for the company, both in EMEA and globally. Icon of the Seas – one of two ships launching this year – continues to break records, and last week the company welcomed Utopia of the Seas. Utopia will make its debut in July and will offer shorter voyages from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida. Royal Caribbean’s second Icon-class ship, Star of the Seas, is scheduled to launch next summer, along with the cruise line’s new private destination, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas, in 2025.
Gerard will report to Angie Stephens, Senior Vice President of International at Royal Caribbean International, and will be supported by the following management team:

Gerard's appointment comes as Ben Bouldin, currently Senior Vice President for EMEA, moves to Shanghai, China, in August to become CEO of Royal Caribbean International in China.
