Several airports in southwestern Germany have increased security after four suspected extremists were seen taking pictures at Stuttgart airport, the BBC and several other media outlets report.
Police are searching for four people who were seen taking photos of the terminal and the airport area, the BBC reports. Information about the suspects was reportedly provided to German police by Morocco's security police. They were reportedly caught on surveillance footage at the airport taking photos, but had disappeared by the time police arrived.
Link to Islamists
At least one of the people is suspected of having ties to Islamists, writes the AP news agency, which also writes that two of the suspects, who are father and son, were seen last week taking pictures at Charles de Gaulle Airport outside Paris.
Other, smaller airports in the state of Baden-Württemberg have also received increased police protection as a security measure, AP reports.
