Pilots at German airline Lufthansa will go on a one-day strike on Friday, Reuters news agency reports. Several thousand passengers will be affected.

The Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) union says that wage negotiations have stalled. VC is demanding, among other things, a 5.5 percent pay increase for its more than 5,000 pilots.

At the end of In July, ground staff carried out a similar one-day strike. After that, new wage agreements have been reached with the ground staff.
