Interest in going on Stromma's Göta Canal cruises was at a record high this summer. It was mainly Germans, Swiss and Danes who wanted to take the classic trip. A great interest in premium cruises combined with a low value of the krona has probably contributed to an increased pressure of visitors from abroad.
Stromma's 2023 season for Göta Canal cruises can now be summarized. on Göta Canal. The figures show that there is still very high interest and that visitors from Germany, Switzerland and Denmark, in addition to Swedes, are choosing to take the trip.
– We can put another really successful season behind us. 2023 is the first year that we can say is unaffected by the pandemic and we have had full trips on all boats. The low krona makes it extra attractive for foreign visitors and the Germans are, as always, at the top. The demand for premium travel and unique experiences is a current trend and our Göta Canal cruises qualify perfectly for this, says Peter Henricson, Sweden Manager at Stromma, which owns Rederi AB Göta Kanal.
