The German government has revoked the Iranian airline Mahan's license to operate in the country, a government source told Reuters.
Security concerns and suspicions that the airline is being used for military purposes are behind the decision.
The government suspects that the airline, which has been on a US sanctions list since 2011, is used both militarily by the elite Revolutionary Guards and by terrorists.
Several EU countries accuse Iran of spying or planning attacks on the continent. The government source says the sanctions against the airline do not constitute general sanctions against Iran.
