Despite the government's announcement about Bromma, BRA flyg sees a continued future for the airport.
”"We can't see that they can shut us out of the market. We are an important part of Swedish infrastructure and we will start up again at Bromma," says the airline's owner Per G Braathen.
BRA flyg, which before Covid-19 hit accounted for the absolute majority of traffic at Bromma Airport, is continuing its efforts to start up at Bromma after the pandemic.
This is according to the airline's Norwegian owner, Per G Braathen, who takes the government's announcement about the closure calmly.
”"This is not the first time Bromma has been threatened with closure. It has happened on and off for 20 years," he says.
BRA flyg has reviewed its future in Swedish domestic aviation during the pandemic year.
One of the alternatives for the airline was to move traffic to Arlanda and thereby find a long-term perspective that Bromma Airport has not been able to offer due to the ongoing debate about whether Bromma should exist or not.
But the company did not get the conditions it wanted at Arlanda.
Therefore, BRA plans to remain at Bromma, with flights starting after the pandemic as early as May.
That plan remains in place despite the government's announcement that it is now working to close the airport, says Per G Braathen.

Minister of Infrastructure Tomas Eneroth said during the press conference about the Bromma announcement that conditions for aviation operators that currently operate from Bromma must be secured at Arlanda.
But Per G Braathen says that BRA Flyg has already evaluated a possible move and has concluded that such a move is not possible.
He also points out that a shutdown without changed conditions at Arlanda risks hitting Swedish domestic flights hard.
”If they shut us out, it doesn't benefit the Swedish infrastructure,” he says.
What will you do if Bromma still closes?
”"We have to assume that the Ministry of Infrastructure has thought about what they are going to do with the capacity at Bromma. If they don't give us enough space at Arlanda, it's clear what could happen. But right now I don't know. It's unclear what they plan to do with us."”
